"It
all happened one night at a party at a friend's house, when a bunch of us
wanted to check out his killer new multimedia system. We headed to his
computer room, where we discovered his daughter busily clicking her way
through The Tortoise and the Hare, a recent installment in the Living
Books series. Initially, I was impressed with the colorful graphics of what is
best described as an electronic pop-up book, but I was impatient to coax her
away from the PC so we could check out some real CDs.
"Soon,
though, I was hooked and I wanted to coax her out of the chair so that I could
play. When she went to bed (finally!), I leaped at the chance to experience
Living Books first-hand. I wasn't alone, Before long, half the party was
taking turns with Arthur's Teacher Trouble, Just Grandma and Me,
and my favorite - Ruff's Bone.
